App launch site
The client
Epoch Lag, an app for keeping family stories: photos, short videos and voice notes, shared privately with the people who matter and passed down.
What they needed
A new app lives or dies on its downloads. The team needed a site that explains the app in seconds and sends people to the app store.
The hard part
An app store page gives you a few seconds to explain an idea. "A private place for family stories" is easy to say and hard to picture, and people deciding whether to trust an app with their memories want answers about privacy before they download.
How we approached it
- 1
Show the app, not adjectives
Real screenshots of the app in a How it works section, and sample story prompts like "What is your best childhood memory?" so people see what they would actually do.
- 2
Answer the privacy questions up front
Nine questions on privacy, sharing, family access, exports and account data, answered on the page.
- 3
Ready for the app stores
The policy pages both stores expect, including privacy, child safety and account deletion, plus download buttons for iOS and Android and a QR code for desktop visitors.
What we built
- A landing page that shows what the app does and leads straight to the download buttons.
- Layouts tuned for every screen size, where most visitors arrive on a phone.
- Analytics to see where downloads come from.
